VETERAN retail worker Susan Franchina has served customers for 40 years and has no plans to stop doing what she loves any time soon.

Having started in retail on June 15, 1972 at Boans in Peppermint Grove, she said she still “likes being on the floor” after all this time.

The Innaloo resident currently works in the books and cards section at Myer Karrinyup, the store she has worked in for the last 15 years.

When asked what the secret to her longevity in the industry was, she said: “good customer service; be yourself and enjoy your job; have a smile on your face and be happy”.
