THE strength and athleticism of WA’s most talented pole dancers will be on display when contestants flex, twist and seduce judges at the Miss Pole Dance Australia competition this weekend.

West Leederville resident Natalie Ragus – known as Trinity on stage – will represent Bobbi’s Pole Studio this Saturday at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Teacher by day and pole dancer by night, Ragus practises her routine between tutoring students with learning difficulties.

Leading up to the competition, she will train for up to four hours a day to prime her strength, agility and extreme flexibility.

“There has been a push to include pole dancing in the Olympics, as we train as much as any elite athlete,” Ragus said.

But she does not practise pole dance for Olympic success; it is her opportunity to perform and practise her athletic talent.

“Pole dancing is my art form, just like some people sing or act or perform in the circus,” Ragus said.
