Disabled bowlers on a roll in Rockingham

Comments:

WHAT started with a hesitant group of eight self-conscious bowlers three years ago has grown into a State title-winning club of more than 30 keen members with disability.

The Malibus meet at Rockingham AMF Bowling Centre every Monday at 6.30pm and prospective members are encouraged to attend open days on Thursdays from 9am to 1pm and Sundays (2pm to 5pm) to experience the thrill of playing tenpin bowls.

Club founder and Rockingham AMF employee Charlie Scicluna said people with disability of all ages enjoyed the weekly games.

The club’s first and second years were successful at WA level with members winning gold in the WA Disabled Sports Association championships and recently the Rocky Rebels won silver and bronze.
