LIGHT off-shore winds and a 1m swell were ideal conditions for the grommets and longboarders at surf beach boardriders’ monthly competition.

There were four newcomers to the longboard division, including Chris Rayner, who finished fourth. Shane Drew and Steve Barton excelled in both the senior and open men’s divisions.

The next competition is on September 19.

Among division winners: push-in division girls – Chelsea Dry; push-in division boys – Jake Jahn; grommet girls – Amily Pugh (first) and Maddison Wells (second); grommet boys – Brad Harrington (first), Kai Feodorov (second) and Jamei Rayner (third); cadets – Chris Rayner (first), Ethan Pugh (second), Josh Wells (third).
