A KIDNAPPER has won a $135,000 payout after complaining a prison accident left her unable to garden, play tennis, drive or work.
Toni Vodopic (44) slipped in a puddle as she mopped floors at the Dame Phyllis Frost Prison in Victoria while serving a 10-year sentence.
She claimed her resulting wrist injuries caused pain and suffering, and sought damages for medical expenses and loss of earnings.
Lawyers for the state recently settled the case despite denying liability, the Herald Sun reports.
But the convicted conwoman's legal victory could be short-lived.
The Department of Justice has quarantined the money and advertised for Ms Vodopic's victims or creditors to come forward and potentially claim a slice.
The case is believed to be one of the first under changes to the Corrections Act giving victims and others the right to claw back money from criminals who win payouts.
