JENNIFER Naglan of Zanzis Bridal never set out to be a bridal designer.

Beginning her career in jewellery and then following her passion for fashion, Naglan’s gowns represent more of a fashion flavour than a traditional bridal feel.

Bridal design has enabled Naglan to develop unique techniques in a bespoke gown that quite possibly would only be worn on such a special day.

“I chose the Subiaco location as it was a shop I had admired for many years; it has a really beautiful window and in the evenings it looks captivating and quite magical,” Naglan said.

“Over the years we have had many admirers of our beautiful window.”

Zanzis is a Grecian name and the store started in the UK before coming to Australia.

“A lot of our clients are time- poor and looking for something simple. In response, we have stocked the Karen Willis Holmes range of ready-to-wear gowns,” Naglan said.

“The gowns are superb and all made in Australia.

“The fabric and finish are the same as what we use in our bespoke range so there is no compromise on style or quality.

“The Karen Willis Holmes range has been hugely successful in the east, with stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“KWH was also asked to stock the beautiful new bridal room in David Jones among some very acclaimed designers. So we are naturally delighted to have the opportunity to bring these gowns to Perth.”

There are a lot of imports in the bridal world and Naglan sees designer bridal wear becoming more glamorous and adventurous.

She said she was finding more clients wanting to make a fashion statement, not just wear a generic bridal gown.

She is also seeing a stronger desire for softer, more floating fabrics and intricate beading.

Zanzis also stocks the Espen Salberg collection.

His most famous client is Jennifer Lopez, who loves the designs on her famous curves.
